1. The Poem of Hope on the Stage of Democracy :
It may be recalled that the DUCSU election, held on 9 September 2025, was like a pure dawn—the first ray of the sun after a long darkness. Without any administrative wrath, without the arrogance of muscle power, or the dark shadow of vote rigging, this election instilled confidence in transparency among the people. It seemed as if a new poem of hope was being composed on the stage of democracy.
But that light did not last long. As soon as the JACSU election of Jahangirnagar University approached, dark clouds gathered in the sky of the transparent process. Where the light of DUCSU’s transparency was supposed to illuminate the path of the national election, the experience of JACSU seemed to cover that light with the invisible chains of pressure.
2. The Staging of an Invisible Drama at Jahangirnagar :
Allegations have been raised that from the Vice-Chancellor of the University to the important members of the Election Commission, many were under the influence of the BNP. Even on the day of the election, flocks of outsider infiltrators entered the campus—their faces bore clear signs of party affiliation. It seemed that this was no longer a university election; rather it was the staging of an invisible drama, where every character was acting under the direction of the same party.
Yet, ignoring everything, Islami Chhatra Shibir snatched victory. Here a silent message seemed to be pronounced—that truth may be obstructed, but it can never be suppressed forever.
3. The Game of Pressure When the Result Could Not Be Changed :
Realizing that the result could not be altered, a new game began. One after another, resignations inside the Election Commission appeared as symbols of surrender to political pressure. These resignations were not independent decisions of conscience; rather they were like dry leaves carried away by a political current—unable to withstand the force of a strong wind.
This invisible game of pressure was seen subtly at DUCSU, but in JACSU it appeared in a naked and repulsive form.
4. A Dire Warning for the Nation :
The experience of the DUCSU election was a beacon of light—capable of guiding the national election towards transparency. But the experience of Jahangirnagar was like a conspiracy to extinguish that lamp of light. If this electoral process of the university remains chained by political pressure, then it is easy to predict that the national election will also be entangled in the same path.
It is like pouring poison into the upstream of a river—once the toxic water mixes, the downstream can no longer remain pure.
5. The Inevitable Victory of Truth :
The transparent election of DUCSU has proven—that the people of Bangladesh are ready to embrace a fair and acceptable process. Although the experience of JACSU has been disrupted by political pressure, this struggle is not over.
However deep this blind attempt to destroy the transparent process may be, the sun of truth will surely rise one day. For history bears witness—that no matter how great the injustice, its fall is inevitable. And truth, though momentarily concealed, ultimately prevails.
