The very individuals who once played a heroic and daring role in the nation’s struggle toward the envisioned Vision 2041, now find themselves neglected and humiliated.

Despite being uninvited, some of them attended the event out of sheer patriotism and moral duty. But upon arrival, they witnessed a bitter truth: the state no longer belongs to its heroes; it now serves a privileged few. Those few July Warriors who appeared peacefully were brutally beaten by police. Some lost their arms, some their legs, and others their eyesight — the same warriors who once offered their bodies for the nation’s freedom.

Through this barbaric act, October 17 has turned into a disgraceful chapter in the national history. The “July Charter,” which could have been a historic document of transformation, has now become a symbol stained with blood — a symbol of injustice and neglect.

Dr. Muhammad Yunus, one of the principal figures behind the Charter, has also faced heavy criticism. Many analysts argue that by signing the Charter over the blood of the July Warriors, he has made himself a partner in disgrace.
