1. The Dream of a New Political Settlement Has Faded:

The sky of Bangladesh’s politics has changed its shade of clouds, but the sound of rain still plays the old tune. The storm of the mass uprising cracked the impregnable fortress of the Sheikh family—people thought, perhaps this time history would walk toward a new dawn. But after a year passed, it became clear: even though the darkness of night has faded, the sun of dawn is still veiled in fog.

Today the question৫ arises—Is this election a contest to become MPs, or a grand mission to craft a new Bangladesh? But this question has no answer in any declaration, no mention in any manifesto, no trace in the political map of any political party, the Election Commission, or the interim government. As if everyone is৫ walking, but without a destination.

2. The Spirit of the Mass Uprising Has Vanished Like a Flash of Lightning:

The mass uprising was like a summer thunderbolt—momentary, intense, burning. For a fleeting flash, the people’s sweat-soaked aspirations appeared—of a new state, a new political language, a new social contract. Voices carried hope, eyes carried the fire of revolution.

But that fire today flickers like a dying lamp; it has light, but no heat. Although the political spirit of the uprising was a winged bird, a runway was never built for it to take flight. The dream of a new Bangladesh remains imprisoned on walls of slogans—it has not found entry into the courts of politics.

3. The Election Is Merely a Game of Power Transfer:

The Election Commission’s calendar has dates, but no direction. Party speeches carry strategy, but no ideology. The interim government’s words carry assurance, but no roadmap.

What unfolds now feels like a fairy-tale stage—kings are changing, not kingdoms; crowns are switching, not principles. The public stands before the stage, watching artificial lights perform, but not witnessing the sunrise of transformation.

4. The Path to Implement the Manifesto of a New Bangladesh Has Been Blocked:

The National Citizens’ Committee recited the manifesto for a new Bangladesh—forceful in voice, fiery in words, promising the future in every sentence. The nation listened carefully, as if hearing a national epic being narrated by a poet.

But the stream of words stopped, the journey never began. The manifesto became like a paper boat in a winter dawn—beautiful from afar, but forgotten the moment it touched the water.

There is no map of planning, no footprint of action, no visible roadmap on the political ground. Thus, “New Bangladesh” remains a story trapped in the cave of slogans.

5. The Chains of Dominance Have Broken, But the Door Remains Shut:

The sun of the Sheikh family’s long dominance has set—this is historical truth. But as the nation believed the “era of one family” had ended, they saw the political shadow of another family growing longer.

Bangladesh’s politics is like a river—there is motion, but no change of current. The boatman changes, but the riverbank destination does not. The people are thus disappointed—because they wanted open sky instead of a changed roof, but received nothing more than a drama of replacing the ceiling.

6. The Nation’s Hope Is Injured:

One year after the mass uprising, the wounds of expectation are now clear in the nation’s heart. People see:

Consciousness was born, but structures were not.

Dreams were spoken,
