Miserable Defeat of Chhatra Dal in DUCSU, JUCSU, CUCSU, and RUCSU: A Warning for BNP — Professor M. A. Barnik

1. Vocal Chhatra Dal — Silent Shibir:

In the skies over Dhaka University that day floated slogans soaked in the breeze of waving flags—
“We want democracy, we want the politics of freedom!”
The banners of Chhatra Dal gleamed; posters covered the walls; the campus echoed as if a rain of words had fallen upon sunlight.

Yet, amid that roar, some remained silent—
invisible, but quietly weaving the roots of their organization deep underground.
They were the activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, who knew well—
not noise, but silent preparation one day becomes the storm.

2. What Appeared in the Mirror of Politics:

DUCSU, JUCSU, CUCSU, and RUCSU—four student unions, four mirrors of truth.
In each mirror appeared the tide of Chhatra Dal—
rallies, loudspeakers, excitement in campaigning,
Facebook posts, TikTok promotions, triumphant declarations on banners—
they were an “explosion of sound.”

From TSC at Dhaka University to Shaheedullah Hall in Rajshahi,
Chhatra Dal built a stage of slogans.
In the theatre of campus politics, they were the lead characters—
but when the curtain rose on the final act,
the spotlight fell upon someone else.

3. Shibir’s Silent Revolution:

Chhatra Shibir was like the morning mist—unseen, yet ever-present in the air.
Fewer posters, lesser publicity, but greater discipline;
fewer slogans, but deeper morale;
no verbal aggression, but flawless planning.

While Chhatra Dal was busy with speeches and live broadcasts,
Shibir quietly carried letters of trust into the ballot boxes.
Their presence was a “silent rebellion”—
not drowned in the sound of microphones,
but blossoming in the stillness of the vote.

4. The Tide of the Masses Turned the Other Way:

When the results were declared—
from Dhaka to Rajshahi, Chattogram to Rangpur—
the same picture repeated itself:
Chhatra Dal behind, Chhatra Shibir ahead.

Where Chhatra Dal thought, “The tide of the people is with us!”
it wasn’t so—the people turned their faces away.
They shifted their votes,
tilting the balance toward Shibir.
The wave changed direction—toward the silent organization.
In a blink, the canvas of democracy was repainted.
Shibir was accepted as the safe haven of conviction.

As analysts said,

> “Noise lost to organization; sound was defeated by strategy.”

5. Leadership Vacuum:

Chhatra Dal’s defeat was not just a loss of votes—
it was the failure of a “war of words without organization.”
Leaders abroad, directions floating over London’s sky,
but activists on the ground—lost, divided, demoralized.

While Shibir’s every branch worked as “one body, one soul,”
Chhatra Dal’s body was entangled in “fear and fragmentation.”

In political terms, this is a “leadership vacuum”—
but in the language of literature, it is a “tragedy”—
where the voice loses itself in its own echo.

6. History Spoke for Itself:
🔹 The Silent Symphony of Victory

Shibir’s victory was quiet, without drums or trumpets.
They knew that within this silence lies the seed of future politics.
Today’s silent triumph will one day be voiced on the national stage—
with that faith, they were—and remain—on the field.

As the evening stars rose over the DUCSU sky,
a young activist whispered beneath torn posters—

> “We did not raise our voices,
because history itself will speak.”

7. Even Silence Has Its Roar:

Amid the noise of the world, silence has taught a new language—
in politics, not only microphones speak; the mind does too.
Across DUCSU, JUCSU, CUCSU, and RUCSU, one lesson rings clear:
the party that works not only on the ground but in minds,
that lives not by noise but by discipline—
history stands beside that party.

> “Even silence has a roar—
not heard only on election day,
but echoed in the pages of history for years to come.”

8. A Warning for BNP:

(1) The recent results of DUCSU, JUCSU, CUCSU, and RUCSU stand as a clear warning for BNP.
The defeat of Chhatra Dal reveals that the party’s roots among the youth are weakening. Losing the trust and attention of the younger generation will make BNP’s path to national victory far more difficult.

(2) Leadership instructions from abroad no longer match on-the-ground realities.
Without restoring organizational unity and a worker-friendly environment,
party revival will remain impossible.

(3) BNP must now focus on nurturing new leadership, rebuilding grassroots structures, and re-establishing active presence on campuses.

(4) The outcome of these student union elections is, in essence, a political mirror—
where the shadow of future danger is clearly visible.
The question remains:
Can BNP recognize its own reflection in that mirror?
